Trump-era policies may fuel tokenized real-world assets surge
The tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) is set to revolutionize finance, catalyzed by regulatory shifts in the U.S. and the growth of stablecoins and tokenized products. Eli Cohen, general counsel of the RWAtokenizing platform Centrifuge, emphasizes that RWAs could provide essential yields for stablecoins primarily through tokenized Treasurys. He anticipates a shift in 2025 as demand for yields increases, leading to greater diversity in tokenized products. Cohen predicts that the Trump administration will abandon restrictive policies, fostering RWA market growth and opening banking channels for new tokenized products. The expected regulatory improvements following a leadership change at the SEC could further facilitate crypto market acceptance among traditional finance firms. Cohen is optimistic about the maturing of crypto service providers mitigating security concerns associated with crypto, enhancing overall market stability and growth, with the RWA market already witnessing an 85% growth over two years.
