Trump-Linked World Liberty Financial to Buy More of Tron's TRX After $10M WBTC Purchase
World Liberty Financial, a DeFi project associated with former President Donald Trump, is set to purchase an additional $2.65 million of Tron's TRX token after recently acquiring $9.8 million worth of wrapped bitcoin (WBTC). Currently, the project holds $352 million in various crypto tokens, including $181 million in ether (ETH) and $7.4 million in TRX. This activity is part of a broader trend as the project's WLFI token sale approaches completion, with only 2.4 billion of the planned 25 billion tokens remaining unsold, and it has raised $1.1 billion since its launch in September. The heightened acquisition activity is linked to a pro-crypto sentiment spurred by the new U.S. administration, which plans to overhaul regulatory perspectives following changes in the Securities and Exchange Commission's leadership. Tron founder Justin Sun expressed optimism about the Trump administration fostering a favorable environment for cryptocurrency, aimed at innovation and inclusivity.
