Unstoppable Domains has partnered with Cake Wallet to create a new top-level domain, .xmr, for Monero users. This initiative allows Cake Wallet users to send and receive tokens using human-readable .xmr addresses instead of lengthy, alphanumeric wallet addresses, simplifying the user experience. The .xmr domains will help users establish unique digital identities for blockchain interactions and enhance privacy and security. Additionally, these domains support asset management across multiple networks, including EVM and non-EVM chains. Sandy Carter, COO of Unstoppable Domains, emphasized that this partnership aims to provide Monero users with more control over their digital identities while enhancing privacy and usability. Despite the popularity of Monero, it faces regulatory challenges, with major platforms like Kraken ending support due to compliance obligations. As Monero trades around $164, the new .xmr domains are expected to bolster the adoption of this privacy-focused cryptocurrency.
