Recent data from CryptoQuant indicates that US entities now hold 65% more Bitcoin than offshore entities. As of January 9, 2025, the Bitcoin reserves of US-based entities reached an all-time high, with a ratio of 1.65 US to offshore Bitcoin holdings, up from 1.24 in September 2024. This surge coincides with an increase in Bitcoin's price, which rose from $60,000 in September to a peak of $108,135 by early January 2025, partly driven by institutional demand. Notably, MicroStrategy, a major corporate Bitcoin holder, purchased a significant amount of Bitcoin in late December, further solidifying its holdings. Additionally, US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted $106.82 billion in inflows since their inception. However, recent market corrections have seen Bitcoin prices retreat to around $93,000, leading to liquidations across the crypto market as concerns grow over the Federal Reserve's monetary policies. This price correction follows a substantial rise, prompting analysts to view the current pullback as a healthy adjustment after the rally that pushed prices above $100,000.
