Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed a comprehensive strategy to enhance the Ethereum ecosystem by promoting growth in layer-2 (L2) solutions and reinforcing Ether's role as the primary economic driver. He emphasized that Ether should be the backbone of the (L1 + L2) Ethereum economy, with L2 networks supporting ETH with a portion of their fees. Buterin highlighted the importance of increasing the blob count, a technical enhancement that boosts transaction capacity, advocating for faster adoption and better interoperability among L2 networks. He suggested that the Ethereum ecosystem should act as a singular entity rather than multiple disconnected blockchains, aspiring for standardized crosschain messaging and efficient deposit and withdrawal processes. Additionally, Buterin stressed the need for continued utility and inclusivity in the network while cautioning against compromising Ethereum’s core principles for mere utility. His remarks include projected advancements in blob scaling, aiming to significantly increase transaction processing capabilities on the Ethereum network.
