Web3 Startup The Grid Is Building Google Maps for Blockchain Data
The Grid, a new Web3 structuring and verifying system, aims to create a comprehensive map for exploring blockchain data. Co-founder Jonathan Knegtel describes it as a solution to the current lack of detailed, accessible information in the Web3 ecosystem. While existing platforms present only basic names, The Grid intends to provide metadata akin to Google Maps, offering clearer insights into various projects and services. Currently collaborating with Solana, The Grid has indexed its projects and metadata, with potential integrations from over 60 other partner companies on the horizon. A key differentiator is the Four Eyes principle, which combines automated data cleaning with human verification to enhance reliability. The Grid is designed to assist existing blockchain platforms by offering more informative data, thereby not competing but rather augmenting their operations. The open core model and GraphQL API provide a framework for these platforms to build and manage their ecosystem pages using data from The Grid.
