Hamster Kombat is a Telegram-based tapping game that has quickly gained popularity in the play-to-earn space, amassing over 300 million players since its inception. The game involves players tapping a cartoon hamster to earn coins, which can be used to upgrade a fictional crypto exchange. Recently, it launched its HMSTR token and conducted an airdrop, reaching a peak market cap of $646 million on its launch date. Despite this success, players reported disappointment over small token allocations. Looking ahead, Hamster Kombat plans to introduce a 'HamsterVerse', with multiple games and a layer-2 network on The Open Network (TON). A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) has also been established to allow HMSTR token holders to participate in governance decisions. Future updates will include a shift in gameplay focus, integration with additional games, a progressive web app (PWA), and the introduction of NFTs. The developers aim to expand beyond Telegram to reach a broader audience while continually enhancing their ecosystem.
