While concerns have arisen regarding El Capitan's potential to compromise blockchain encryption, experts assert that the supercomputer's capabilities are nowhere near sufficient to break current cryptographic standards. Instead, its main use will be for nuclear blast simulations and supporting AI-powered research. Experts warn that the true threat to cryptography may come from future quantum computers, which could potentially undermine the security models currently in use. Although simulations can aid in stockpile certification, they won’t replace the historical data obtained from previous nuclear tests.
