XRP spikes 12% as whales continue 'enormous accumulation' — Santiment
XRP's price surged by 12% in one day as whales rapidly accumulated the asset. By January 14, XRP reached $2.69, marking the first time since December 17, 2024, that it crossed the $2 mark, and it further rose to $2.83. According to Santiment, this price increase is linked to large wallets holding between 1 million and 10 million XRP tokens, which have accumulated 1.43 billion tokens since November 12, representing a 37.4% increase. Analyst Sean Dawson noted that the strong momentum may also stem from speculation about a potential XRP ETF listing this year and might encourage investors to shift capital from Bitcoin to altcoins like XRP. Additionally, legal developments regarding XRP's ongoing battle with the SEC could favor XRP within a pro-crypto context in the White House. Banking giant JPMorgan predicted that XRP ETPs may attract significant investment, with estimates ranging from $4 billion to $8 billion in net new assets.
