In a significant move to bolster its foothold in the emerging Web3 space, Google Cloud has joined hands with blockchain infrastructure entity MultiversX, previously known as Elrond. The collaboration is set to integrate Google Cloud’s BigQuery data warehouse with MultiversX’s infrastructure, laying down a robust foundation for Web3 projects to harness potent data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities native to the Google Cloud platform.
This alliance is geared towards simplifying the implementation of expansive, data-centric blockchain initiatives. It aims to furnish developers with effortless access to crucial blockchain data such as transaction details, smart contract engagements, and a broader spectrum of on-chain analytics, thereby promoting an enhanced understanding and interaction with the blockchain ecosystem.
Google Cloud’s engagement with MultiversX is a strategic step towards empowering ecosystem architects with sophisticated tools and services. It’s projected to escalate the performance and scalability of decentralized applications, particularly in their non-blockchain segments. Daniel Rood, the Head of Web3 EMEA at Google Cloud, expressed optimism about the partnership enabling Web3 developers to expedite their build and scale efforts, further broadening Google Cloud’s innovation horizon in the blockchain domain.
MultiversX, on its part, has a history of forging alliances with mainstream brands, advocating for the integration of Web3 applications in conventional sectors. Noteworthy collaborations include its partnerships with ICI D|Services, a premier European digital assets marketplace, and Audi’s Holoride, an in-car virtual reality platform.
Moreover, MultiversX disclosed a slew of enhancements to its decentralized digital asset wallet and “SuperApp,” xPortal. The upgrades are tailored to streamline financial transactions in both traditional and digital currencies. By early 2024, xPortal users will enjoy a gamut of financial services including peer-to-peer fiat transactions, European IBANs, SEPA, and SWIFT transfers.
In conjunction with these developments, MultiversX unveiled the xWorlds Developer Kit. This suite of tools is envisioned to catalyze the creation of next-gen augmented reality experiences, with xPortal serving as a pivotal wallet and distribution conduit. The kit also features AI-powered 3D avatars, heralding a new era of realistic virtual interactions in the metaverse.
