Trump to Attend Bitcoin Conference Despite Recent Assassination Attempt
Former president Trump to speak at Bitcoin Conference following assassination scare
Former President Donald Trump has confirmed his participation as a keynote speaker at the upcoming Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, just hours after surviving an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The Bitcoin Conference, a significant event in the cryptocurrency community, is set to commence in less than two weeks. BTC Inc. CEO David Bailey has announced that the event organizers are working on enhanced security measures following the recent attempt on Trump's life.
"We are proud to host [Trump] and to share the solidarity of the global Bitcoin community," stated the conference’s official Twitter account. Organizers assured that they are "actively engaged with our security teams and are fully cooperating with all the relevant parties to ensure a safe event."
Trump’s commitment to attend the conference follows a failed assassination attempt at a political rally in Pennsylvania, casting a shadow of uncertainty over his 2024 presidential campaign. The FBI has identified the attacker as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Despite this, Trump remains undeterred and is eager to address the conference.
David Bailey shared, “I have just spoken with the President’s team. He is in good spirits and is excited to see you all in Nashville and deliver a speech that is heard around the world.”
The Bitcoin Conference is expected to attract around 20,000 attendees this year, up from 12,000 the previous year in Miami. Notable speakers include independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, and Republican Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez. This year’s lineup also features Tennessee's Republican Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, as well as former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Trump has shown increasing support for the crypto community, accepting crypto donations and backing Bitcoin miners. His stance has influenced other Republicans, like Senator Blackburn, who recently announced that her reelection campaign will accept crypto donations.
This conference will undoubtedly be a critical moment for Trump and the cryptocurrency community, spotlighting the growing intersection of politics and digital currencies.
